She co-created and wrote for 'Schadenfreude' a comedy show on Chicago Public Radio which was syndicated nationally for two seasons. Other TV appearances include 'Easy' (Netflix), 'Playing House' (USA), and 'Shameless' (Showtime). Kate voices the characters Tricia and Alice P. Corn on the podcast Hello From The Magic Tavern (Earwolf) and once upon a time improvised a viral video where she played a very drunk Chicago Cubs fan. Kate is married to the other guy in this show.

Steve Waltien is a Peabody award winning writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which has also earned him three Emmy nominations. He's an alum of The Second City Mainstage in Chicago and a member of The Improvised Shakespeare Company. Other TV and film credits include Mike Birbiglia's 'Don't Think Twice', 'The Opposition with Jordan Klepper', 'Klepper', 'The Second City Project' and 'Chicago PD'. Professional comedians Kate James and Steve Waltien are legendary comedy performers in Chicago and throughout the world. They happen to be married to one another -- and one of them happens to be from Vermont. Together they will spin some of the most mind-blowing spontaneous theatrical comedy you'll ever see -- using only the suggestions of the live audience in the room. Not to be missed!


Summer Improv MINI FEST!

We're offering up a smattering of incredible improv talent to wind down your summer, from Aug 24-27. Just think of it as a "fun size" festival for you to get some laughs in before school starts up again. Grab a "pass" that will get you into all 6 shows (even though half of them are free anyway). Let's blast the A/C, grab a cool drink and enjoy some spontaneous comedy!

Steve Waltien is a four-time Emmy nominee and Peabody award-winning writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He's an alum of The Second City Mainstage and the iO Theater in Chicago and still tours all over the world with the acclaimed Improvised Shakespeare Company.

TV and film credits include Mike Birbiglia's Don't Think Twice, The Opposition with Jordan Klepper, Klepper, The Second City Project and Chicago PD. Steve plays Prince Tomblaine Belaroth on the podcast Hello From the Magic Tavern. He recently worked with rock legends Phish to create Sci-Fi Solider, a comic book that accompanies a suite of songs by the band.

TICKETS: Vermont Comedy Club works with a will-call system, meaning we do not print physical tickets. To gain entry, simply check in at the box office the night of the show with your ticket confirmation (printout or phone) or a valid ID. DON'T FORGET YOUR COVID-19 VACCINATION CARD (or photo of the card)!

LATE ENTRY: Entering the room mid-show is distracting. Please be respectful and arrive on time! If you arrive at a show more than 30 minutes after the scheduled showtime, you WILL NOT be admitted and will not be issued a refund. (Unless otherwise indicated, doors open 30 minutes before showtime.)

AUDIENCE ETIQUETTE: We want EVERYONE to have a good time. We encourage you to laugh a lot and interact with performers when invited to do so. During the show, please DO NOT chat with friends or shout unsolicited things at the performers. Disruptive patrons WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE and will not receive a refund.
