Wednesdays (April 23rd-May 28th) at 7pm, Vermont Comedy Club presents some of the funniest long form improv teams our community has to offer! Local comedy group ALL THE WORST PEOPLE hosts/headlines this wild hour of spontaneous fun, featuring different guest teams each week. It's a variety of styles and it's always a great time!

After the 7pm show, the night breaks out into an improv JAM, where absolutely anyone who wants to give improv a try can jump onstage -- and those too chickenshit can sit and watch. ;)

ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

He's been tearing it up in this season of HACKS on Max!

Danny Jolles is a multi-hyphenate comedian best known for playing the role of ‘George’ in the CW series CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND from creator Rachel Bloom. Additional credits in the acting space include spots on RAMY (Hulu), BABYLON (Paramount), THE JOEL MCHALE SHOW (Netflix), and most recently the Peacock series TED from creator Seth MacFarlane.
 
In 2021, Danny released his first stand-up special titled DANNY JOLLES: SIX PARTS which was recognized as one of the Best Comedy Specials of 2021 by the New York Times. In 2022, Danny he followed this up with the first ever interactive stand-up comedy special titled YOU CHOOSE, which received critical acclaim from New York Times, Vulture and Forbes to name a few.

Good Clean Fun! is an interactive and FUN improvised comedy show for the whole family! It happens every month, and features some of VCC's most seasoned improv performers. Bring the kids and laugh out loud!

HELPFUL INFO FOR PARENTS: Shows happen once per month on a Saturday, and typically last just under an hour. There are opportunities for kids to get onstage during the show and play games with performers (but they're never pressured to do so). The show is high energy and silly, but does not have loud or unexpected noises or lighting changes. Food and drink are available, and our lounge is open if you need space to duck out with a crying baby. ;) See you at the show!

ABOUT THE SHOW

THE KINGDOM KIDS are a trio of some of Vermont’s most experienced improv comedians. The cast all grew up in the northeast corner of the state (AKA the “Northeast Kingdom”), hanging out in places like gravel pits, drugstore parking lots, and decrepit movie theaters.

In their popular show at Vermont Comedy Club, the team asks audience members where they hung out as teenagers (and what kind of trouble they got up to there).

Then, the Kingdom Kids use these audience stories as inspiration for an entirely improvised, freewheeling and wildly entertaining comedy show. 

With a shared sense of humor that is smart, sarcastic and silly, this homegrown troupe of performers puts on an unpredictable show that is enjoyable for any audience.

If you’ve never seen improv before, this is a great place to start. If you’re already a fan, this is a can’t-miss show!

ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Long hair, tobacco, over-sized glasses and a trucker hat, Dusty Slay is the self-effacing bourbon-voiced Southern comedian next door with a knack for observational, blue-collar humor and the nerve to say what everyone else is thinking.

He grew up the son of a single mom in an Alabama trailer park and evokes laughs about everything from Cracker Barrel to his aversion to soap. The 40-year-old Nashville native is a mainstay on the country music scene, making his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2019 – the youngest at the time, and adding dozens of appearances in the historic Circle ever since.

He has also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live, has a Comedy Central special to his credit and just released his first hour-long Netflix special "Workin' Man" that he filmed about three hours from home, at the Bijou theater in Knoxville, Tennessee.

With almost 20 years of eliciting guffaws through his laidback observations, comedic cadence and conversational style, Dusty is just getting started bringing his brand of relatable working-class comedy to audiences coast to coast.

Good Clean Fun! is an interactive and FUN improvised comedy show for the whole family! It happens every month, and features some of VCC's most seasoned improv performers. Bring the kids and laugh out loud!

HELPFUL INFO FOR PARENTS: Shows happen once per month on a Saturday, and typically last just under an hour. There are opportunities for kids to get onstage during the show and play games with performers (but they're never pressured to do so). The show is high energy and silly, but does not have loud or unexpected noises or lighting changes. Food and drink are available, and our lounge is open if you need space to duck out with a crying baby. ;) See you at the show!

ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Michelle Buteau is a comedian, host, actress, writer, and producer. The multihyphenate stars in the Netflix comedy series “Survival Of The Thickest”, which she created and executive produced. Inspired by her autobiographical book of essays of the same name, the series was released in July 2023 and its second season is slated to premiere March 27. Buteau received the 55th NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Breakthrough Creative (Television)” for the series.
 
Buteau also stars in the hit comedy BABES, alongside Ilana Glazer and directed by Pamela Adlon. Variety praised the movie as “unapologetically raw take on pregnancy and female friendship”.” Next, she will soon begin production on the comedy SPA WEEKEND, opposite Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher and Anna Faris.
 
Buteau is also the host of the Netflix reality competition shows, “The Circle" and “Barbecue Showdown”.

ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Comedian and Actor Vir Das has emerged as one of the most beloved voices in comedy worldwide with The New York Times gushing “No artist embodies the globalization of stand-up like Vir Das.” His fourth and most recent Netflix comedy special Landing premiered to universal praise from fans and critics alike earning Das a 2023 International Emmy Nomination for “Best Comedy,” his second overall. ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Laura Peek is one of the most promising young Los Angeles based stand-up comics to come out of Nashville’s bustling comedy scene. She was selected as a 'New Face' at the prestigious 2022 'Just For Laughs Festival' in Montreal, and was named one of Vulture Magazine’s Comics You Should and Will Know 2022.

In 2023, Laura recorded a set for Comedy Central’s ‘Stand-up Featuring’ series. She has been featured twice in Don’t Tell Comedy’s popular ‘Secret Sets’ series, and is a paid regular and favorite at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. Her storytelling and sharp wit delight audiences across the country and as of recently, internationally.

ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Hari Kondabolu is a comedian, writer and podcaster based in Brooklyn. The NY Times called him “one of the most exciting political comics in stand-up today” and described his 2018 Netflix special Warn Your Relatives as “an incisively funny and formally adventurous hour that reveals a comic in command of his powers.” The special was named on many “Best of” lists, including for Time, Paste Magazine, Cosmopolitan, E! Online, and Mashable. He was also named one of 2018’s “Comics To Watch” by Variety. Hari currently hosts the new Netflix food competition series Snack vs Chef along with Megan Stalter. His newest special, Vacation Baby, is available on Hulu and YouTube.

In 2017, his truTV documentary The Problem with Apu was released to critical acclaim and spurred a global conversation about race and representation. The Nation called it “a devastating critique of the ultimate comedic sacred cow: The Simpsons.” It is now used in high school, college and grad school curriculums around the US.

Hari has also released two comedy albums, Waiting for 2042 & Mainstream American Comic with legendary indie rock label Kill Rock Stars. Additionally, he has performed on such shows as Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Late Show with David Letterman among many others. He is also a former writer & correspondent on the much loved, Chris Rock produced FX show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.

A regular on the public radio, Hari is a panelist on the NPR game show Wait Wait... Don’t Tell Me. As a podcaster, he co-hosted the popular Politically Reactive with dear friend W. Kamau Bell. Additionally, he also co-hosts what he politely describes as a “pop up podcast,” The Untitled Kondabolu Brothers Podcast with his younger brother Ashok (“Dap” from HBO’s Chillin’ Island and defunct rap group Das Racist.)

Hari attended both Bowdoin College and Wesleyan University, graduating from the former institution with a B.A. in Comparative Politics. A former immigrant rights organizer in Seattle who worked under the leadership of now-Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Hari also earned a Masters in Human Rights from the London School of Economics in 2008. He was the “Artist In Residence” at NYU’s APA Institute for the 2014-2015 Academic Year and at Shangri La Museum in Honolulu in 2018.

ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Robby Hoffman is a small ex-Hasidic queer Jewish stand-up comedian, writer, and true original. She can currently be seen as the breakout of Netflix’s Verified, their new selection of next generation stand-up comedians. New York Times comedy critic Jason Zinoman compares her "bulldozing stand-up to Larry David because of her mountain-out-of-a-molehill kvetching, but her hilarious rage over people who complain about interruptions during a conversation makes her sound like a modern lesbian Andrew Dice Clay."

Also a favorite of The Times is her podcast, Too Far (with Rachel Kaly) which is described as an "addictive listen", and that “truly great comedy emerges from combustible hostility, discord and a melodramatic sense of conflict." She was named one of Vulture's Top “Comedians to Watch,” one of Comedy Central's “Up Next” comedians, and was on Conan O’Brien’s “Comics to Watch” list. She has performed numerous times at the Montreal Just for Laughs festival and has twice headlined the New York Comedy Festival.

She recorded her first one-hour stand up special I’m Nervous in Toronto, available on CraveTV, and can also be seen in this year's History of the World on Hulu. Robby is also a notable TV writer, having written on The Chris Gethard Show (TruTV), Workin' Moms (Netflix), and Baroness Von Sketch Show (IFC). In 2019, Robby won a Daytime Emmy Award for her writing work on Odd Squad (PBS).

She is currently developing projects with Showtime, Warner Bros TV and A24.

ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Leaving Dublin, Ireland where he was born and raised until the age of 22, David got drunk on travel and never quite hit sobriety of it. He has lived and worked in twelve countries and visited over seventy. His shows draw on his wide travels, cultural observations, attempts at language study, (occasional) international drinking session(s) and being a mildly confused immigrant.

David is the winner of the prestigious annual San Francisco Comedy Competition, (previous finalists include Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres and Dana Carvey) and runner-up in the Moth’s largest US Grandslam storytelling competition.

Also a bestselling writer, David recorded his debut special Documented for Dry Bar Comedy in 2019, and his follow up Cultural Appreciation in 2023. ABOUT THE COMEDIAN

Adam Cayton-Holland is a nationally touring comic who has appeared on Conan, Corden, Comedy Central, and a bunch of other great stuff that starts with the letter "C."

Along with his cohorts in the ecomedy troupe, The Grawlix, he created, wrote, and starred on the TV show, Those Who Can't, which aired for three seasons. The Grawlix also host a popular podcast called, "The Grawlix Saves the World.”

Adam has six albums you can listen to wherever you do that sort of thing, as well as a special, Wallpaper, currently streaming on Hulu. His memoir, Tragedy Plus Time, is available everywhere, and Adam recently adapted that book into the movie See You When I See You, for which he wrote the screenplay.
