Laurie Kilmartin

with Annie Russell

Laurie Kilmartin is a stand up comedian, late night writer and New York Times bestselling author.

Laurie has performed standup on CONAN, Jimmy Kimmel Live and numerous shows on Comedy Central. Her Seeso special, 45 Jokes About My Dead Dad, made Vulture’s Top Ten Comedy Specials of 2016, as well as Paste, Splitsider, Interrobang and The Decider. The New York Times pointed to, "sharply written one-liners captured the pain and frustration of caring for a dying loved one." Paste Magazine called it "hilarious... brutal, and cathartic" and Interrobang called it "innovative... twisted and dark." Before joining the writing staff at CONAN (2009 to present), Laurie was a staff writer on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Too Late with Adam Carolla and Tough Crown with Colin Quinn. In 2012, Laurie wrote the New York Times bestseller Sh*tty Mom, a parenting book that Time Magazine called criminally funny. Laurie has performed at the Edinburgh, Montreal, Bridgetown and Moontower comedy festivals. She's also done shows for the troops in Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait and Diego Garcia. Her podcast with comedian Jackie Kashian, The Jackie and Laurie Show, is big with young comedians and middle aged men. Laurie lives in New York and LA.

Annie Russell

Annie Russell is an emerging comic based in Chicago. She’s been featured in clubs and comedy festivals across the country including the Boston Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy Festival, 208 Comedy Festival, Cream City Comedy Festival, Floodwater Comedy Festival, and North Carolina Comedy Festival among others.

“Russell has a gift for crafting compelling tales. She is blessed with an incisive and insightful perspective, and keen instincts likely honed by working [in public radio.] But her most frequent target is herself, deploying wry humor to riff on everything from family and politics to relationships, life and death.”- Dan Bolles, Seven Days.

Annie has performed in some of Chicago’s best clubs and independent showcases including the Laugh Factory, Zanies, The Paper Machete and Chicago Underground Comedy. She cut her teeth in Burlington, Vermont as a regular feature at the Vermont Comedy Club and returns frequently to perform and produce on their stage, as well as to stock up on real maple syrup and locally brewed kombucha.

She has been delighted to open for Jen Kirkman, Shane Torres, Roy Wood Jr., Jon Dore, Beth Stelling, Ron Funches, Greg Fitzsimmons and other national acts. She opened for Marc Maron at the Flynn Theater in Burlington, Vermont.

Annie founded Freshman, a “wildly unique and wince-inducing” show where brave presenters share their embarrassing student artwork and writing. Her popular comedy shows have been profiled in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, Chicago Magazine, Seven Days and the Burlington Free Press.

She is a co-producer and co-host of Arguments & Grievances, a monthly live debate show and podcast. She produces comedy for the Waking Windows music festival.
